Dubbed as the tradie toy hauler. Jayco appears to be breaking new ground with the CrossHaul and appealing to entry-level caravan camper buyers that are tradies by weekday and adventure-seekers come the weekend.
This seems quite different and we were keen to check out the detail and bring it to the attention of our customers.
The Jayco CrossHaul
The CrossHaul is a new 11’ model in the company’s toy hauler category, but unlike some of their other larger toy haulers, the CrossHaul carries out double duty. It is designed to be a versatile vehicle especially for tradespeople and other workers that need a trailer to transport their tools and equipment to/from site.
At 11 feet, you can use it as a trailer during the week, the load up the toys and use it as a camper trailer on weekends. The construction is the tough frame you would expect from one of Australia’s leading caravan manufacturers with hot dipped galvanised chassis and independent coil suspension.

There is no kitchen or bathroom facilities, but if you’re staying at a caravan park with facilities and you’re happy to grab your meals offsite, the CrossHaul could be a great caravan option for you. Space for tools and work equipment then swap those out for your mountain bikes, surfboards, snowboards and other toys to head for an adventure weekend.
For those that need a trailer for work and want a camper/caravan for play, the CrossHaul could represent a cost-effective compromise. One vehicle, one caravan loan, one monthly repayment but taking on double the workload. The cargo space not only can be used for tools and toys and sleeping, it can triple up as your lounge and chill-out zone or a lunch room for work.
