This is a very special milestone for New Age and Walkinshaw as that 20,000 chassis rolled off their production line. The production at New Age had been ramping up considerably over the past few months as the entire workforce returned to work following the impacts faced during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This ramp up has allowed the operation to reach this significant target at its facility located in Epping Victoria. The company manufactures at its Melbourne facility and sells through an Australia-wide dealer network. The popularity of the brand has New Age producing in excess of 2000 of its great caravans every year.
The milestone chassis is destined for one of the company’s Manta Ray pop top designs, a 16ft. The company sees it as fitting that this milestone chassis will be proudly installed on one of the models from its original ranges. A range that has been a staple for the New Age but has evolved since introduced in 2010.
Chris Polites, the Managing Director of New Age Caravans said the company was extremely proud of this significant achievement and it represented a celebration for local Australian manufacturing. He said the company looked forward to handing over the 20,000 chassis caravan to the Melbourne dealership customer when completed later in the year.
The Journey to 20,000
New Age first started out in 2004 as New Age Frames and Designs before becoming the current entity in 2008. Over the ensuing years, it has developed and manufactured in excess of 70 RV models. The company employs 300 locals and is regarded as one of Australia’s great high-end caravan manufacturers.

The kitchen has also received attention with a new surround for the microwave which is designed for increased safety and security during travel, even on those bumpier roads.
